No Bid Contracts
No bid contracts are common in Washington County.
If I have this right, the threshhold for a manditory bid here is $75,000 potential cost.
This is an example from the 2023 budget hearings.
Instead of bidding this out together, the bidding process was bypassed by splitting it
between the 2 Judges.
Two $40,000 bids instead of one $80,000 bid.

reason why the County Zoning Board
would not appoint legal members.
As part of his 2023 run for Mayor of the City of Salem
Tommy Brown III tried to show how easy it would be
to correct Salem's Illegal Zoning Board.

Cannot get Public Documents
On December 6, 2022 Washington County Officer Joseph Keltner allegedly had an armed standoff with the Salem, Indiana Police Department.
Instead of being placed on administrative leave, County Officer Joseph Keltner was placed back into active duty.

Washington County Surveyor
Washington County has Ordinances in place already to deal with Property. The Surveyor and Building Commissioner have not been following the law that is already on the books.

Daniel Blann - Surveyor from Jackson County | Washington County Subdivision Ordinance need. Washington County does not require a survey before a property can be subdivided and the terrible damage it does is the county.
Examples:
One property owner in Washington County built a building that they thought was on their property. They found out after it was built and the neighbor had a survey done that the property line ran right through the building. Another common issue is that a property owner wanted to divide her property into 3 parcels for their children. After having it surveyed, they found out that they actually owned 12 acres less than they thought they did.
